Thanksgiving Day Travel Expected to Increase
Officials expect to see more travelers on Thanksgiving than last year
For the first time this year more holiday travelers are expected to be out and about for Thanksgiving than there were for any holidays in 2010, and law enforcement officials are urging motorists to use caution. An estimated 611,000 South Carolinians are expected to travel more than 50 miles to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday this year, according to a recent report from AAA. Airplane travel is expected to increase from last year, despite high ticket prices and lower gas prices.
