Freddie Grant to Appeal Ammo Conviction

Grant is the only suspect in the disappearance of Gabbiee Swainson.

Freddie Grant, 53, appealed the 17-year conviction handed down last week, WIS reports. Grant was convicted on federal charges after a box of shotgun shells and a box of .38 caliber bullets were found at his Elgin home, WIS reports. Read more here.

Accused Kidnapper Sentenced to 212 Months on Ammo Charges

Freddie Grant will spend the next 17 years in prison.

Accused Kidnapper to Be Sentenced on Federal Ammo Charges

Freddie Grant will be sentenced for possessing ammunition.

Freddie Grant, the man accused of kidnapping Gabbiee Swainson, will be sentenced in federal court on Thursday, WIS reports. Jury: Freddie Grant Guilty On Ammo Charges

The jury decided Grant knew the ammo was in his home.

Freddie Grant, the man accused of kidnapping the 15-year-old Gabbiee Swainson, was convicted on federal ammo charges on Tuesday, WIS reports. The jury, after two-and-a-half hours of deliberation, decided that Grant knew of the ammo in his home. Read the full report HERE. Gabbiee Swainson: Freddie Grant Trial Begins Monday

Grant is accused of kidnapping Gabbiee Swainson in August.

Jury selection for the man accused of kidnapping Gabbiee Swainson began Thursday with the trial beginning Monday, WLTX reports. Elvia Swainson, Gabbiee's mother, was in a relationship with Grant at the time the girl disappeared. Grant allegedly kidnapped the girl in August. Investigators found bloody duct tape and Swainson's DNA on a wine bottle in his home. Police said Grant had a key to the Swainson home and that he was missing on the morning the girl disappeared. The girl's last cell phone call originated from Grant's home. Grant also has prior drug charges in Florida. Read more about Freddie Grant's past HERE. The trial was postponed from October when he pleaded not guilty to felony gun charges Last month Grant said Swainson ran away. …

Grant Due in Court After Attorney Said Gabbiee Swainson Ran Away

Gabbiee Swainson's accused kidnapper faces felony gun charges in federal court.

Freddie Grant, the man accused of kidnapping 15-year-old Gabbiee Swainson, will face federal charges for having shotgun shells and ammo--something he's not allowed to have as a convicted felon, ABC Columbia reports. Gabbiee Swainson Petition Collects International Signatures

The 12-year-old girl who started the petition now wants 1,000 signatures.

A petition started to get Gabbiee Swainson's accused kidnapper questioned reached the intial goal of 167 signatures. Now, the 12-year-old girl who started the petition wants 1,000 signatures. Those who signed the petition identify with three countries, US, England and Mexico, and several states.  Kiara Westbrook started an online petition in hopes that Freddie Grant could be questioned about Swainson's whereabouts. Sign the petition here.  Since he was arrested, Grant has refused to answer any questions about Swainson. In an earlier press conference, Sheriff Leon Lott said it was not legal to question him once he requested a lawyer.  Comments from the original story show an outpouring of support for Westbrook.
