Richland Northeast Earns IB Designation

Richland Northeast is now an International Baccalaureate World School

Richland Northeast High School needed less than two years of preparation to become an International Baccalaureate World School. Richland Two received a $6.4 million grant during October 2012 to begin implementing the IB program at Richland Northeast, E.L. Wright Middle School and Windsor Elementary. Now, Richland Northeast has earned its certification. Beginning in August, teachers will use new curriculum for qualified juniors and seniors living in the Richland Northeast zone or placed in the program through the magnet selection process. “We’ve worked extremely hard to earn this status, and it’s going to help our students get into the best colleges and universities in the world,” said Diploma Programme coordinator Virginia Tate. State Releases Richland Two PASS Scores

2011 Palmetto Assessment of State Standards test results by school.

The South Carolina Department of Education released the results from the 2011 Palmetto Assessment of State Standards (PASS) test scores last week. Below are the scores from Richland Two schools located in Northeast Columbia.  The subjects included during the testing were writing (5th and 8th grade only), English and Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Social Studies (S.S.) and Science. For the schools below, student scores were consistently higher on social studies and English assessments and lower on the science tests.
