Spring Valley NHS to Host Fistula Fundraiser

The National Honor Society chapter at Spring Valley High School will host a fundraiser Wednesday for an organization helping women in Ethiopia. Students in the organization will screen the documentary "A Walk to Beautiful," in the Spring Valley High auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $2 and proceeds will support The Fistula Foundation. The documentary focuses on five Ethiopian women suffering because of obsteric fistulas, which result from child birth and often cause infection and social ostracism in developing countires. The students hope to raise $5,000 for the foundation, which provides medical treatment for women with fistulas in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
