I had my child there from the time they were a newborn and really wasn't aware of the owners opinions on things. They do things the "Adlerian Way". The owner Cindy says that it's been very successful "Adlerian Way" since 1975. Well, welcome to the 21st century, Cindy. This place could not protect my child or others from a child that repeatedly hit, kicked, punched and threw things at my child and others. They say they can only do the "oil and vinegar" technique inside but outside if fair game. After 6-8 instances and broken reassurances from the director (who is no longer there) and the asst director (who lies b/c she's not doing her job) and extremely condencending conversations with "Cindy", we were DONE! If you can't protect my child, I will call DSS to have you investigated and move them. Which is exactly what I did. I didn't realize that some of the Adlerian ways actually hurt my child when they started school. If they have a group reading, they child can sit and do something else as long as they are productive. Ok, sounds ok..until your child starts kindergarten and doesn't want to participate b/c of the "Adlerian Way". Be aware and very concerned for your child at this center because it doesn't matter which location you go to, Cindy and her "successful ways since 1975" will not conform to 21st ideas and values!

We have had several problems with Adlerian. First off, our child was not sick until attending Adlerian. Since attending, our child has had several trips to the doctor and we have had many days off work. Our child also is sensitive to acid and we provided written and verbal communications that our child is not to have highly acidic foods (oranges, lemons, etc.). While she isn't allergic to the food, the acid causes dryness/redness and is sensitive to our child. Our requests were flat out denied unless a she once AGAIN goes to a doctor to run an allergy work up and get a medical diagnosis for allergies. We have also fought with them when they refused to give our child (less than 1 yr) formula. They said that they are no longer going to give her a bottle and if she doesn't learn to drink from a "sippy cup" then she won't drink. We provided all the written documentation required and they told us that they still would not give her anything by a bottle anymore because they wanted her to move up to the toddler room. If you don't want to fight with your day care provider about whether your child will get enough liquids/formula I would not recommend Adlerian. Also if your child has something like somewhat sensitive skin or for any requests to be fulfilled, I would not recommend Adlerian. I would also not recommend Adlerian if you want your child to not have to go to the doctor many times a month. This is a truly honest review- I do not have any affiliation with any other day care.
