Retired professional athlete Terry Dozier will coach the basketball team at Richland Two's new Westwood High School.
Dozier, who played for the Charlotte Hornets and the University of South Carolina, will lead the Westwood High RedHawks when the school opens in the fall. The basketball team will play in the Class 3A division.
The hiring will bring a little sibling rivalry to Richland Two. Dozier's brother, Perry Dozier, is the boys' basketball coach at Spring Valley High School.
Terry Dozier will also be the College Information Specialist at Westwood.
"We are thrilled to have someone with Terry's background to help us develop our basketball program and to have someone with a wealth of experience in mentoring young people," Principal Ralph Schmidt said.
Dozier holds a bachelor's degree in hotel, restaurant and tourism administration
from the University of South Carolina.
