UPDATE: Adriana Laster 'Missing Under Suspicious Circumstances'

The man accused of kidnapping Gabbiee Swainson is also thought to be involved in the disappearance of a woman who has been missing for over a year.

Immediately following Freddie Grant's arrest for the kidnapping of Gabbiee Swainson, he became a person of interest in two more cases--one killing and one missing person.

As the one-month mark approaches in the search for Swainson, the one-year mark passes in the search for Laster.

Chief H. Harold Brown of the Elgin Police Department told Patch that Adriana Laster was last seen around the first of September in 2011 near Grant's Elgin home.

The two were in a relationship at the time and Laster was living with Grant, Brown said.

However, Laster was staying at a neighbor's house at the time of her disappearance. Brown declined to comment on why Laster was not staying with Grant at the time she went missing.

Grant's sister, Cynthia Grant, told Patch that Freddie Grant knew Laster and she was last seen on the street corner near Grant's home.

A year later, the Elgin police are still actively investigating the missing woman, Brown said.

Sheriff Leon Lott said in a press conference earlier that it was about a month after Laster went missing that Grant reunited with Elvia Swainson, Gabbiee's mother.

"I don't believe that was just a coincidence," Lott said.

Stay with Patch for another update on the alleged involvement of Grant in the killing of Daniel Wood in Kershaw County. Note: At this time, Grant is only a suspect and has not been charged with anything in relation to Daniel Wood or Adriana Laster.
