Readers' Choice: Name Your Favorite Burger Joint
We have relaunched our Readers' Choice contest with dozens of new categories, including burgers.
Jimmy Buffett sings, “I like mine with lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57…”
Burgers are a staple.
You can find a decent burger just about anywhere, but what makes it great?
Is it the toppings? The seasoning? The “real” beef patty?
Patch is looking for the “Best Burger” in town.
Have a burger place that makes your mouth water?
Nominate your favorite restaurant in Irmo, Lexington, Spring Valley and St. Andrews to be part of our “Best Burger” contest as Patch unveils its Readers’ Choice.
Just log in and post your vote in the comments section below. You may nominate multiple places, but please post each nomination in a separate comment so we can make sure they are all counted. Your nominee must be in one of our Patches to be eligible.
Nominations are due by July 9.
Voting for Readers’ Choice 2012 will begin in late July and winners will be announced in August.

Again, I'm stuck on a chain here. I'm going to go with Five Guys, even though I know there must be some great local burgers out there. Help me out, folks. Where should I go?

No such thing as the best burger ... just great and then not as great. You can get a great burger at 5 Guys and Cookout but you can also get a great burger at Rush's, Sonic, and Burger King. The truth as I see it ... there is no such thing as a bad burger ... just varying degrees of good with none so much better than the rest to be called the best.

I agree, nothing comes close to Rush's. They even have it down to a science how the burger is put together, and God forbid someone doesn't do it the right way. The learn the right way very quickly. Proven method for over 60 years or so. I love Rush's hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, bbq, fried chicken, and of course the handmade milkshakes.
