POLL: County to Update, Educate on Potential Penny Tax

The 'transportation penny' will be on the ballot in November. Will you vote for it?

A one-cent sales tax would raise more than $1 billion over the next 20 years, but it has to pass the voters first.

To edcuate voters on the proposed tax increase, county officials will be hosting several meetings--one of which is in Blythewood on Wednesday night.

The meeting will be at Blythewood Park at 6 p.m.

If approved, the tax would go for major road, bike and pedestrian greenway projects, and 20 years of bus service.

Addtional information can be found in the fact sheet attached to this story.
