A man was taken to the hospital after being beaten and kidnapped in a Northeast Columbia neighborhood Monday night, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department. 

The man was at 402 Autumn Run Way when he was attacked by five people, according to the sheriff's department. The people beat him and kicked him in the body. Some of the men also pointed weapons at him, deputies said.

The men put him in a vehicle and dropped him off on Stallion Drive, deputies said. 

The victim was taken to Palmetto Richland Hospital, according to the sheriff's department. His condition is unknown. 

The sheriff's department is investigating the incident.
