Body Found in Woods, Ruled Homicide
Two hunters found the body as they were clearing land for deer season.
The body of James J. Shepard, 21, was found on July 22 in a wooded area off Wessenger and Boswell Road after he died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to a release from the coroner's office.
Shepard lived on Loggerhead Drive in Spring Valley. His death has been ruled a homicide by the coroner.
The Richland County Sherriff’s Department continues to investigate.
