BEFORE AND AFTER: Tour the New Best Western Plus
As part of the rebranding of Best Western, renovations will standardize the expectations throughout franchises across the nation.
An eight-month renovation of the Jamieson Suites was finalized on Aug. 30 as the new Best Western Plus opened on Two Notch Road.
The 100-room hotel targets a more corporate market--the amenities include a 1,400-square-foot meeting room and ethernet capabilites--although they plan on accomodating guests for Fort Jackson events as well, Director of Operations Priti Patel said.
The hotel, easily accessible from I-20, I-77 and SC 277, is close to Blue Cross Blue Shield, Verizon Wireless, and the SCRA Research Park.
Other nearby attractions include:
- Fort Jackson
- Golf courses
- The Village at Sandhill
- Midlands Tech
- Virginia College
- Polo Road sports complex
After owners found discrepancies among the different franchises of Best Westerns, the company decided to rebrand the string of hotels by forming three specific levels of accomodations, each of which includes a set number of amenities. The standard Best Western is the basic stay hotel, while a Best Western Plus will include specialized amenities for a more professional stay.
To target a corporate clientele, the Best Western offers office supplies suited to work such as a LED desk light, one-cup coffee maker, a sixth-floor meeting room and 24-hour desk service, Patel said.
The Two Notch location in particular has set sanitary features including a TV remote that can sanitized and Mincey Marble in the bathroom. Mincy Marble is a relatively new substance that reduces mildew in moist areas.
The new streamlined locations will be subject to evaulations every six months to make sure they uphold the new standards.
Prices start at $92 per night and go up to $122 per night, Patel said.
